Paddy Processing Factory - Kilang Beras Rakyat Sekinchan (适耕庄人民碾米厂).

Ah...yesterday quite a few of you asked where's the rice? Well...that Orchard tarak sell rice leh. They only sell fruits and snacks leh.

Hence off we went again hunting for the elusive rice factory lo. Drive punya drive then saw this BIG tree with loads of yellow ribbons in front of a temple. Could it be the famous "Wishing tree"? But that one should have red ribbons wor....why this yellow one geh?

Time for adventure. Got down from the car to "look see look see". Saw the small pagoda / tower .

Jom! Let's climb up. Don't be so chicken la , Mamarazzi. Let me lead the way.

1st floor. Nice view.  Second floor.....aiks.....legs shaking liao. Very steep leh the stairs.......

Shhh......don't tell people that my legs were shaking ah....

Still wondering why the tree have a lot of yellow ribbons with a round ring tied to each coin...hmm....nobody here to ask.

Oh well.....back to the search for the elusive Rice Factory la.

Finally found the rice factory. It's located just a slight distance away from the temple.

Saw many types of bicycles "parked" right outside the factory. Must be tourist who doesn't wish to drive to the factory so they rented bicycle to cycle around the paddy fields. Yup...the road here are very narrow. Would be fun to go around in bicycles or motorcycles.

Did some "modelling" for Mamarazzi outside the factory. She said this year not many good photos of me to put into photobook wor.

Haiz...my 6 years old photos she had yet to sort and put on the side bar here leh.

The good thing of being early at the factory is that there aren't many people around. Hahaha...I ge to "play " with whatever laying around there.

They have this  Rice Planting Machine on display for visitors to snap photos in. At first Mamarazzi thought the green padddy seedlings are fake but when she looked properly...yikes...real seedlings leh.

Actually I have been to this factory before. I came with my classmates and teachers. That was back when I was 4 or 5 years old. Forgotten lor when was that.

At this factory there is also a small "Paddy Museum" . I think I went in before but I didn't understand what they were talking about then coz they were speaking Mandarin.

This round, I insisted to go again. RM5 per visitor.

Each visitor with ticket will get a packet of rice. Two for us then coz Papa didn't go.

Mamarazzi opt for lecture in English.  We were led to a room. Watched a short video of how paddy is planted. Then got at personal tour by this pretty Jie Jie who explained the history of rice planting. How it was done in the old days and she showed us how they are doing it now; how the rice was processed and etc.

I didn't listen much coz I was busy snapping photos with my phone.

After the brief tour, the Jie Jie said we can walk around and snap photos. If there is anything that we don't understand we can ask her.

But pretty soon Mamarazzi kicked my arse called me and said enough liao. Time to go "shopping".

Wah lau eh......see see so many people liao. *Kiasu mode on*. There are all sorts or rice and rice products here.

While Mamarazzi was busy "borong-ing" ....so many type of rice...what to buy ah? Me pulak started eyeing what I wanted.

Found it! My "microphone".....no I mean Ice Cream. Said to be made of fresh passion fruit and dragon fruit wor.

One for me and one for Papa.

(recycled photo from Kindie Graduation day)

As we were heading back to the car, guess who spotted us? Yup ! "Professor McDonagall"...The teacher in the kindie that I respected the most. Dare not play the fool in her class.

Coincidentally she was visiting the factory with her family too. Mamarazzi had a nice chat with her and she asked about my progress in Primary school. Said not to worry about Mandarin as I would automatic pick up the language in no time.

Then we took leave from the Professor and went to the car. The rice that Mamarazzi "borong-ed". Quite cheap leh. 5kg for RM13. Bought 6 bags of those. No fear. Sure can finish eating one.

Mamarazzi then said she wanted to go opposite the factory and see what they are selling at the roadside shop. I told her that I would rather stay in the car with Papa as I was still in shock wanted to enjoy my Ice Cream.

Wah lau eh....they selling a lot of things there leh. Go Banana chips, sweet potatoes chips, all sorts of buns, fresh sweet and fishballs. They would even fry the fishball for you if you wanted to eat them immediately.

Saw the vendor making "kuih Kapit"(Love letters biscuits) . Visitors can buy it fresh. RM25 for a "tin" of 100 pieces  .

Mamarazzi was tempted to buy then she thought heaty leh.

Saw some fruits and vegetables being sold there too. Heard that Sekinchan is famous for mango so she was interested la....hmmm.... RM5 per kg for mango. Looks like similar price as the night market.

Asked the boy selling the mango what type is the mango but he said he dunno. From what Mamarazzi saw in the basket , it looks like they have two type of mango - Lemak Manis and Water Lily species.

Well, since it was very fresh, Mamarazzi bought a kilo of the Lemak Manis mango la. Expecting better buys from the Famous Mango King Shop which  Professor McDonagall told her during their conversation.

Next stop....Mango King
