Our Breakfast(s) From Various Corners of Melaka

Uiks? Didn't Mamarazzi say wanna go home after dinner at Umbai?  Well....it all thanks to WAZE GPS systems. A check using WAZE shows that heavy traffic jam recorded from Melaka to KL:. Mak datuk....if the recording is true....nearly 3hours plus going to 4 hours baru reach home leh. Some more night time. Papa said he is not comfortable with traffic jam hence while Papa drive to town, Mamarazzi did a search using  our Galaxy tablet lo.....

Didn't bother with the big names hotel as expected most would be fully booked. Earlier on that day, we pass by a smaller name hotel called Marina Wells hotel when we we searching for Nyonya Kuih. It's the same row with the new location of Donald & Lily Restaurant.

Lucky us. They have two rooms left. Immediately booked that hotel. Pleasant surprise. The receptionist was very polite and very helpful.

Happy with the room.It was clean and comfy. More spacious than what we had expected. Sorry ya...no photos of the room coz too tired liao la. No mood to snap photo. Most important...fast and FREE WIFI service *evil laugh* .

The next morning ...again kena Mamarazzi kick to wake up early. Say go food hunting wor. Wanna eat fast fast then can start journey home early to avoid the traffic jam.

Papa did his homework. Found Long Hiang Coffee Shop. From TripAdvisor, it's said that there are plenty of good food to be had there.

Mamarazzi had the Duck Noodle as it's said to be very nice. Hm...not bad. What she loves the most is the soup. Tast like Bak-kut-teh. Very strong and thick herbal taste. Come one....boss.....kasi satu duck noodle...don;t want noodle...only want soup...*LOL*

Me ..I had clear soup with yellow noodles.

Papa copied me. But his was the dry version. Portion enough for me but not enough for Papa. Guess he purposely ordered small size noodles coz he wanted to try out other types of food offered there.

Saw the next table had the famous Melaka Chicken Rice. Papa also want. Mamarazzi told me that the rice they will make into round shape...golf ball size.

She told me I had eaten that before wor..but I don;t remember leh.

She ordered for Papa. 8 Chicken rice ball with Roast Pork and roast chicken.

I tried and said nice. But when she asked want some more or not, I said not. But I want some more of the Roast Pork. The rice balls was nice la. She asked me to dipping the sauce and eat but I refused. That's why it tasted a bit plain lo. My fault.

After the big breakfast you would think Mamarazzi said enough , right? But no. ....Kena influenced by the Wolfie Cubie la... adoi...went hunting for Nyonya Kuih.

She said wanna go Pasar(market) to hunt coz that would be the place local would go for their morning breakfast kuih right?

We pass by this market when we were on Long Hiang Coffee shop. Papa dropped us at the market and off we went hunting.

Saw this lady selling various fried types of fried noodles and kuih-muih. Bought some.

Got back into the car, want to head off but barely a few shops away, Mamarazzi said STOPPPPPPPP .

She spotted this restaurant . Saw many people makan there and there was a queue for the Pau. Hmm...suddenly felt like eating Pau pulak.

Got down the car....Uiks...price not expensive at all leh. Big Pau only RM2.50 (about USD 0.70). Too bad all sold out.

Left only Char Siew Pau(BBQ pork pau)

The Dim Sum was less than USD1 a basket too. Very cheap. Don't think can find this price in KL at all.

While waiting... Mamarazzi had a chat with the lady. It seems that her husband handmade all the Pau by himself.

On our way back to the hotel, we stopped by the famous Christ Church area. He said wanted to bring me inside the Church to see but too bad normal days the church was not opened.

You can read about this amazing Christ Church from wikipedia. Mamarazzi don't wanna bored you with long post about the church .
Have you ever ride a "beca(trishaw) before? Melaka have plenty of beca and they are decorated according to the time or what is the 'in" thing.

Saw quite a few beca with FROZEN theme and HELLO KITTY theme.

Mamarazzi purposely asked me to stand next to this Doraemon beca. Sure Uncle SK and Jie Jie Sharon will love it.

After some photography ...we head back to the hotel for our second round breakfast "feast".

Ang Ku bought from the market

And a packet of Chee Cheong Fun MIXED with Yam cake. Clever hor how they mixed these two types of food together as both also uses similar gravy.

Total for the packet of 5 pieces of Ang Ku and and the CCF+yam Cake was RM6.20 but the lady boss told Mamarazzi to pay just RM6. So nice of her. Mamarazzi not even her regular customer leh.

Char Siew pau from Dong Fung Restaurant. The not much pork inside the pau but the skin was very fluffy and nice. They must be using good grades flour. Taste good too.

Siew Mai. One for Papa, one for Mamarazzi....I said no thanks but after I took a bite...I said I want all pulak. Should have bought more.

This one Mamarazzi likes the most.  Think in Cantonese it's call Dong Po Yuk. Basically the meat is eaten with the Mantao.

Again I said "no thanks..". Again Mamarazzi asked me to take a bite. Again that bite end up with whole piece being mine liao. Yum....

Next time go Melaka, must go makan at this Dong Fung Restaurant.

After makan,  we check out from the lovely Marina Well Hotel lo.....so you guess....did we went home straight or did we went food hunting some more?

List of makan place we went : -

1) Long Hiang Coffee Shop
93 Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho, Melaka

2) Eng Seng Market
    Jalan Temenggong, Melaka

3) Dong Fung Restaurant
Jalan Temenggong, Melaka (a few shop opposite the road from the market)
