First Round Breakfast at Tung Lok Corner, Sibu.

The next morning, we had breakfast at Tung Lok Corner near our hotel while Uncle Arthur went and pick up Mommy Ling from the airport.

Uncle Arthur recommended we try the Zhao Chai Hung Ngang from this place. Have to ordered from the kitchen instead of the stalls. Opens at 8.a.m.

Auntie Quay Po Cooks and her bestie were already there when we arrived. They bought this delicious Cheese cake from the Cake house nearby to be share with everyone.

While we were enjoying the cake, a beggar woman came over and asked for RM10. We didn't give. She then asked for RM2. Still we didn't give. She asked for a piece of the Cheese cake instead.  Gave her a piece as it's better to feed her instead of giving her money which we won't know what she use it for.

She ate the cake and then Mamarazzi spotted that she wiped her hand on the wall of one of the shops. Ewww!! Gross...

Another "Biscuit". Called "Husband Biscuit" instead of "wife Biscuit". Inside consist of Red Bean and Pandan Kaya.

A Jie Jie put a mug of hot water on our table. We were surprised as we did not ordered any warm water.

Then we noticed that every table have one too and the customers would put their chopsticks and spoon into the mug to clean and kill the germs. Lucky we didn't drink the "warm water".

It seems that Zhao Chai Hung Ngang is a type of thick Vermicelli with soup. Customer may choose what ingredient to be put into the soup. Whether they wanted the plain noodles, with fish fillet, with shrimp or mixed.

The taste of the soup depends on the customer. They can opt for spicy soup, mild or non-spicy. Obvious from the photo, there are preserved vegetables in the soup.

We ordered the spicy one with prawns.

They gave two Big Head Prawns. Soup tasted nicer with prawns but the price also nicer at RM12/bowl.

This is the plain bowl of Zhao Chai Hung Ngang at RM4/bowl.

 Ngap ngap....

Mamarazzi...I don't want. It's spicy.

See! in the plane Nasi Lemak was spicy, can eat but this one not as spicy as Nasi Lemak but don't wanna eat.

In the end, Mamarazzi ordered a bowl of the non-spicy ones for me.

But when I saw Papa's plate of Kampua Noodle, I wanted that pulak!

 Ngap! Ngap!

Mmmm....taste so goooood. Papa also likes the Kampua here.

Guess my expression says it all ya?

Sorry ya as Mamarazzi had forgotten to get the address of the shop. You won't miss it if you go to Lorong Pahlawan 7D, Jalan Pahlawan, 96000 Sibu, Sarawak. It's a corner lot shop right opposite of Everwin Sibu Bus Terminal SHopping Centre.

  3. Hah!!! You're like me - don;t like zhao chai hung ngang!!! Kampua's the best!!! LOL!!!

    P.S.
That beggar a con-woman - all over the town, she will go. Cheated me once with her sob story and persuaded me to buy her midin for RM5 a bundle - could have bought the same at the market for RM1.00. My colleagues told me she's rich, children all in university...so now when I see her, I would scold her and chase her away.

  21. I was already drooling over the first pic of cheese cake followed by all the different types of noodles. Somehow I find that the taste of how noodles over here is better then in Sibu. The last time I was here, I was more into discovering the really within the budget seafood.
