New Paris Restaurant @ SS2

Once again I was so tired from gai-gai whole day that I fell asleep in my Car seat and continued sleeping in the Baby Chair at the restaurant...that is until the food is served la. It's called conserving energy.

Anyway, we went to this restaurant that Papa and Mamarazzi used to go to when they were "pak tor-ing". Used to be a wooden hut but it was demolished and moved to this new premises at 62,64,66 Jalan SS2/72, 47300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The food and price were reasonable back then.

This is their "signature" sambal. Very spicy and penuh "kick".

Rice is serve is a big pot for each table and it's up to you how much you want to take.

The "compulsory" Taufu dish for me. Funny...it's the first time Mamarazzi saw it's being cook with these cute mushroom. Taste not bad. Gravy a bit too thick.

The favourite of everyone. It was good. However, Mamarazzi only managed a bite. A bit too spicy for her as her throat was not feeling that well.

Mantis Prawns fried with salted egg. Taste okay to Mamarazzi but Papa said not that good. The prawns tasted like it has been pre-fried. However, I seems to love it. Maybe due to the salty taste.

Yau Mak. Just nice. Not over cooked.

Watermelon Chicken. I was hoping that it's Watermelon Pork Rib like the ones at Soon Wah Seafood Restaurant. Taste was rather disappointing. The one at Soon Wah Seafood Restaurant was better.

The service was excellent. The food was average and portion rather small. well, this is our personal opinion only. It may not represent the truth. Do come and have a try especially their sambal. Total bill comes up to RM70+ for 4 adults and me.

  10. Hi SK, love the dishes.
Can see you all eat out a lot, trying new places all the time.

Oh ya, yesterday we had lunch a Malaysian shop and after more than 25 years I had fish head noodles.
It was out of this World!
The last time I had that was in Singapore in early 80's.
Have fun, SK, best regards, Lee.

Here many restaurants. Thus can get many choices. Sad to noted that some restaurant "open" fast and "close shop" even faster.

  25. I love to frequent this place too! Was amazed at how they packed everything up with that plastic on the table and ... tah dah.. a clean table for the next customer! hahahahahahha.. food is good n cheap!

  26. Ya, Hubby and I went to this restaurant quite a lot of times also. Price is considered cheap for a place like SS2. We have never ordered the tauhu dish, but the mushrooms sure look yummy to me. Saliva dripping oredi! hehehe.... As for the mantis prawn, my Hubby seems to like it, but not for me as I find it too dry and crispy, should be crisp on the outside but moist on the inside. My hubby's favourite dish there is 'pai kut ong' in maltose gravy.

Yes...they really layer the tables with all those big plastics

I wonder what would happen if Government abolish using plastics in this country...

  28. Alice,

what else do you guys usually order there? I know compulsory dish is the sweet potato leaves belacan la.

  29. Usually we order kangkung belacan, pai kut ong in maltose sauce, and mantis prawn coated in salted egg. We pernah order before the watermelon chicken and kam heong lala, but so far is only once or twice. There was one of a weekday in December 2009 when hubby and I took leave to go jalan (without Juan Or), we ordered mantis prawn salted egg style and that day one was very well-cooked - exactly as how I liked it! So Hubby said maybe that day the most experienced chef was on duty leh! :P

  30. Alice,

i think maybe the shop expand jor so they hire more chef gua. If lucky then get the experience Chef .Otherwise...haiz...
